Message Picked up a new Z at the beginning of the year. I've been out of the Z scene since I sold my CRP Z back in 2009. I've had a dozen 240sxs since then, often just picking up a chassis that needs some tlc, performing said tlc and selling to some punk kid trying to upgrade from his fixed-gear.

I thought I'd found a car I'd keep forever, a 93 s13 sapphire coupe very similar to Rics, second owner and fairly clean.

But then, as some of you may recall, member Purple96 posted his 96 purple slicktop for sale in the classys here. Since I haven't gotten a woody at the thought of a car like this in a while, I realized I've been missing the Z32 chassis a lot, and it's probably high time I slide back into one again, especially considering what the TwinZ have been up to.

So I immediately emailed Paul, and we began communicating that day. He was happy to sell to a Z nut like me, and was willing to work out a deal for me to take delivery of the Z in Tampa a few weeks later. So on January 10th I flew from Birmingham to Tampa, met Paul at the airport, checked out what I already knew to be exactly what I wanted, and headed on a short 10hr drive home.

On my way home I picked up a few goodies, some 350z Brembos (once you go track), and I've been working on a few mods here and there. The car was bone stock, barring an original Stillen K&N filter, and after looking over it mechanically, it's been naught but maintained. Paul had purchased this car brand new in March of 1998, and he had all the service records, original window sticker, original title showing the date with 23 miles on the odo, and it already came with some goodies that Paul hadn't gotten around to installing yet.

Overall, the deal seemed too good to be true, and I was anxious until I pulled into my driveway. The transaction was very smooth, and I believe I managed to snag a true beauty.

Also worth noting, I had some Konigs installed on this Z for a short time, 18x8.5. As soon as I picked up the Rays V1 wheels and installed them (exact same staggered setup and tires), I noticed an insane difference due to shaving off over 10lbs of rotational mass from each wheel. Don't make the mistake of underestimating the performance gains from less rotational mass. There's a reason they call these things "track wheels".

Anyway, I have big plans for this Z, jspec bumper and tails, some other minor goodies, but for now I have a tt project in the works and this will have to stay NA, no blue nuts or anything gaudy, just going for a simple, clean PETZish concept. Enjoy :)

How she looked in pics Paul sent me before sealing the deal:

Local guy with a new 370z, I thought the colors might look similar but up close, mine is clearly purple and his is clearly dark cherry in comparison. Sorry for poop quality pics.

Cheers,
JBrobst,
